Foreword
Through the report “Green Knowledge 2024”, the Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research
(NIBIO) presents a small selection of our contributions to sustainable solutions for agriculture,
forestry, management, and food production. Through our work in Norway and internationally, we
are dedicated to contributing to sustainable value creation and forward-looking management of
our shared biological resources.
Sustainable development requires collaboration between research, management, industry, policy-
makers, and society. This report offers a glimpse into some of NIBIO’s more than 1,500 projects.
We contribute to efforts ranging from groundbreaking research to concrete actions and innovative
solutions that businesses and authorities can implement today.
NIBIO produces over 650 publications annually, collectively contributing to insight and solutions
for the transformation of Norway. Knowledge is key to the green shift, and NIBIO’s vision is “Vital
knowledge for society and nature.” NIBIO employees make a daily effort to contribute to a better
world, and I hope this report inspires and stimulates your curiosity.
